( DAC'19 Item 10c ) ----------------------------------------------- [03/04/20]
Subject: And weak user turnout for Breker this year is Best of 2019 #10c
WEAK TURNOUT: The last 3 years of user comment word count citing Breker
as one of that year's "Best of" broke out to:
Breker TrekSoC 2017: ############################## (1,476 words)
Breker TrekSoC 2018: ######## (381 words)
Breker TrekSoC 2019: ### (119 words)
WAS THE KALE OF EDA: Waaay back in 2017, users wrote up a storm about Breker
such that Breker even tied with Cadence Perspec for the #1 Best of 2017.
(See DAC'17 #1b)
I even wrote it up as the "Kale of EDA", joking that even though it tastes
nasty (because I personally hate all the rules-rules-rules-rules of PSS),
"it's good for you!" From users writing pro-Breker 1,476 words in 2017.
But now it's down to just 119 words. When it comes to "Best of" surveys,
I can only report what emails come in, and that's all.

QUESTION ASKED:
Q: "What were the 3 or 4 most INTERESTING specific EDA tools
you've seen this year? WHY did they interest you?"
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
Looking at Breker and Perspec. They're very different approaches.
We can't quite say whether one is the better of the two. I'll
let you know once our eval is done.

Breker TrekSoC
We've been using Breker for a number of years now. It does the job
and their support is excellent; especially for a small company like
ours.
Because we're small, the "big" EDA vendors usually ignore us.
Breker treats us like kings! We highly recommend them.
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
Since we use TrekSoC every day, I should probably nominate them.
I'm kidding. Adnan treats us well. Breker's a good company and
TrekSoC works really well for us.
