Subject: Reader's choice -- The Top 5 Gadflys and Top 20 Wiretaps of 2006
 
DAC ON THEIR MINDS: The biggest topic for my Gadfly column and Wiretap blog
was DAC.  "My Cheesy Must See List for DAC 2006" was the most viewed (and
probably the most printed) single opinion piece I wrote for last year.  It
got 13,496 pageviews!  And the "Cooley's Best of DAC 06 videos" Wiretap got
6,490 pageviews.  (Typical Gadflys get 9K and Wiretaps 5K pageviews.)
 
The #4 "You Should Hear What I Hear" Gadfly was about all the crazy, mixed
up Magma/Synopsys rumors I heard at DAC.  The top 2006 Wiretaps documented
Cadence's weird I-may-or-may-not-be-at-DAC-this-year-or-next-year dance.
 
Beyond DAC, Gartner/Dataquest shutting down their EDA division was the other
big story of 2006 -- again documented here in the Gadflys and Wiretaps.
 
And "The Whole Story of these DATE Conferences" was just too much fun to do.
A number of the European DATE organizers let me know in no uncertain terms
