Hi, John,

Please keep me ANON!

One of the stolen customers is TI.

What division of TI? What EDA tools did they replace?

John,

They have displaced ALL of Synopsys tools in TI's digital divisions
(ASIC/DSP/wireless). PT/ICC/DC/HSIM... the whole lot!

I think the analog TI divisions anyways used a lot of Cadence tools.

Hi, John,

Please keep me anon on this one.

Not sure if you ever had an answer on this, but I know of at least one
of the 2 semi companies that were referred to by Cadence.

From what I have heard CDNS did a very large deal with TI recently.

But from what I am told, it is similar to the one that they did with
Freescale many years ago. It is a 10 yr exclusive deal at very very deep
discount; even by Cadence standards.

Hi John,

One of the two is Texas Instruments.

I did not tell you this.

Editor's Note: ASSUMING that these three sources are correct, it begs
  two questions:

1.) How could Aart NOT know about losing TI in a Freescale-style
        all-tool-swapout???

2.) What was the second company CDNS stole and from who???

Keep in mind that this is rumor, folks. Only Aart and Li Bu know what's
really going on here -- and they ain't talking! :) - John
