Subject: Cadence CMO Bruggeman rumored ousted in unexpected palace coup
Five independent sources have reported the rumor that immediately after
yesterday's CDNS Q2 2011 earnings call, that:
"John Bruggeman has left Cadence over a disagreement about organizing
product marketing back underneath the individual CDNS R&D heads and
put what remains of the rest of marketing underneath Pankaj Mayor, a
former Simplex business development guy."
- [ First Anon Source ]
"Bruggeman leaves Cadence. He's temporarily replaced by Pankaj Mayor.
Not clear what happens to the EDA 360 vision. Marketing moves under
the business units. This is all I know."
- [ Second Anon Source ]
"I just heard that Bruggeman's out at Cadence. Not sure what the story
is, or if it is true. He's still up on their website. Sometimes people
forget to update that stuff quickly."
- [ Third Anon Source ]
The CDNS Q2 2011 earnings call was at 1:00 PST on Thursday, July 28, 2011.
As of 12:00 PST Friday, July 29, 2011, John Bruggeman's bio was still up on
the Cadence.com executive team roster as the first name immediately following
Lip-Bu Tan, the CEO of Cadence. John Bruggeman is still listed as their
Chief Marketing Officer. And Pankaj Mayor's bio there still lists him as
Lip-Bu Tan's Chief of Staff.
This rumor, if true, is rather unexpected because it's not been announced
anywhere by Cadence.
The last public press release involving John Bruggeman was 17 days ago by
the GSA where he would be representing Cadence at an October GSA conference
along with Aart de Geus, CEO of Synopsys; Tudor Brown, president of ARM;
Scott McGregor, CEO of Broadcom; and Sanjay Mehrotra, CEO of SanDisk.
So far, multiple attempts to get official confirmation or denial of this rumor
from 4 different marketing people at Cadence have remained unanswered.
