Subject: Venting about Aart, Rajeev, Lip-Bu, & EDAC CEO "Forecast" Panel

From: [ Don't Take My Kodachrome Away ]

Hi, John,

I'm sending this because you're the only one with the nerve to publish it.

With respect to the recent Annual EDAC CEO "Forecast" panel on Jan 5th,
I have to vent. I attended it. I have the following to say. To wit:

Can someone please task Bob Gardner to find a date for this "forecast" event
such that none of the CEOs are in a quiet period? It's inane to sit in a
"forecast" where Aart or Wally or Lip Bu can't actually forecast.

It was categorically obscene that Ravi Subramanian of Berkeley DA was on
this CEO panel in lieu of Rajeev. Obscene. Can someone please tell Aart
to grow up and get over his personal animosity towards Rajeev? Synopsys
lost the lawsuit. Move on!

Next time could EDAC have a confirmed moderator for this CEO panel instead
of an EDA marketing consultant who insinuates himself in as the 5th CEO
panelist? He was supposed to ask questions, not answer them.

Why was Lip-Bu not at this CEO panel? Charlie is a good panelist, yet it's
insulting to Aart, Wally, and the audience that Lip-Bu wasn't there.

EDAC should give Wally the Kaufman award for being one of the few CEOs who
actually preps ahead and gives real industry insights backed by hard data
in his talks. So many of the other CEOs don't do this.

I work at a small EDA start-up that hopefully one of the Big 3 will acquire.
Please keep me anonyous lest you wreck my company's exit strategy.
