Hi, John,

That wouldn't surprise me. It's pretty common in acquisitions for the
acquired people to agree to a transition period than leave.

Not from me!

I've heard from 3 sources. This Gary M thing at SNPS is happening...

From: [ Mr. Network ]

Hi, John,

Keep me anon. Here is what I'm hearing in my network:

  - Gary Meyers is out. He has been sending emails to various 'EDA CEOs'
saying exactly that for the last two weeks, implying he wants a job.
I can't if this is due to Synplicity performance issues or Gary got
rich/liquid and the 18 month earn-out expired. I'm hearing claims
that the Synplicity people HATEHATEHATE working for Synopsys are just
    leaving after the earn-out expired.

  - Juergen Jaeger is gone. He was marketing head of the silly ProDesign
ChipIT prototyping stuff, an infected sore thumb in the Synopsys
product offering. This 'loss' is harder to explain than Gary. Juergen
didn't get rich and will need a job.

  - Ken McElvain is nearly gone. He is working 1 day a week at most and
not on synthesis. This is completely inexplicable. With the free
tools from Xilinx and Altera working as well or better than what
Synplicity sells in the FPGA market, the only reason Synplicity would
be worth $225 M would be if Ken could be employed to help on DC and
    other ASIC products.

  - Andy Haines left some moths ago to join Synfora.

My network agrees that there are rumored cutbacks coming in the Synplicity
division soon.
