Subject: Joe Costello showed for Oasys, but few showed up for Joe
Overheard in the bar in the lobby of the San Francisco Marriott:
First person: "Did you hear that Joe Costello showed up at this DAC?"
Second person: "No! Where?"
First person: "He was at the Oasys booth at 3:00 today. It was sad to
see him there because there was no big crowd around him
like he usually attracts."
Second person: "You're kidding me!"
First person: "Nope. Two or three people would go to the Oasys booth,
he'd talk with them, they'd leave, and two or three more
new people would come. I think he expected a much larger
crowd. Most of his time there I saw more Oasys employees
at his booth than visitors. He kept up a 'Joe' smile up
the whole time, but you could tell he was disappointed."
Second person: "Oh, man... That's really sad to hear."
Third person: "They didn't promote him coming to DAC at all. They
should of! Their PR people messed up big time."
First person: "They did promote it but they were relying on word-of-mouth
to get the news out. You know how Joe is, you don't know
if he's coming until he's coming."
Second person: "I'm still in shock that so few people showed for Joe.
That's so sad..."
After that their conversation shifted to which company had the best looking
booth babes on the floor. (It was a bar conversation after all.)
