Hi, John,

Please tell those three "thank you" even though I can't afford to travel to
DAC this year. I'm in Texas and been out of work since April.

Hi, John,

My first reaction when I read this was "gosh darn, that's a great idea!"
Buying 600 tickets for others was not cheap. Handing them out to both
current and unemployed engineers shows they're good guys. My kudos.

Hi, John,

Tell those three that they're good eggs. We need more like them.

John -

That is an amazingly nice thing for 3 guys and 3 companys to do.

I vote to make those 3 guys honorary IEEE Fellows as they really show they
understand who their true end customers are and what the heck the DAC is
for! Maybe they should be made honorary EDAC Fellows?! Or maybe honorary
DAC Fellows?! The DAC ExComm could do that...

And thanks much for using your ESNUG list here to inform all of us who are
currently laid off about still being to get into the heart of the DAC.

Hi, John,

I was laid off from Cadence last year after Mike Fister drove the company
into the ground while at the same time lining his pockets with $50 million.

I haven't found a new job yet, but David's email restored my faith in EDA.

He reminded me that pompous corrupt self-serving a**h*** CEOs aren't the
only ones calling the shots in EDA. Thank Dave, Scott, and Mike for me.

Hi, John,

I have been out of EDA for a while and will not go to the show. However, to
have 3 different EDA companies work together and do something good shows a
lot of class not seen very often!

Hi, John,

When I get back on top, I'm going to remember this. Whatever business I can
steer to Denali, Springsoft and Atrenta, I will. A month after I was cut,
the Synopsys salesman (who I thought was a good friend) won't return my
phone calls. Talk about fair weather friends!

Hi, John,

Is it OK for me to publicize this? I'm about to send out a mass email to
my 7000 strong opt-in list on Si2 activities at DAC. I'd like to include
the Denali/Atrenta/Springsoft story in there.

Hey, John,

My CEO yelled at us for not having this idea first. Can you believe it?

Anon pls.

Hi, John,

I'm glad these three companies took that initiative. I think what they
did was a good idea. I was so impressed about what they did. Instead of
complaining, they did something about it.

Just posted this as a News Byte on www.SCDsource.com.

Hi, John,

We registered over 700 people in just seven days. This tells me there
are a lot of people wanting to go, and not just on Monday. I know that's
more than the 600 we initially offered; like the airlines we took a guess
at the number who will actually show up and upped the registration a bit.

Here's a brief breakdown of the numbers: the registrants said they were
from about 250 different organizations; we declined about 50 because they
didn't meet the ground rules; the job/no job split is about 75%/25%; of
those without jobs, about 30 were ex-Cadence guys and we felt it would
be wrong to turn them away.

Thanks for getting the word out about the free DAC exhibit passes. Dave,
Mike, our teams, and I really had fun making it happen.
