WED, JUNE 6, 1:24 PM -- One of my sources has told me that at this DAC the
Synopsys PrimeYield LCC demos were hitting standing room only capacity.
Since I haven't seen this demo yet myself, I'm unsure of what the technical
draw is going on here. Time to see if I can get in.

Last night, Rajeev laughed at the idea of Magma acquiring SiCanvas, but he
did heavily hint at the fact that his Magma developers were working on their
own custom layout tools to directly take on the Cadence Virtuoso monopoly.
Nothing offical yet, just big obvious elephant-in-the-living-room hints.
In addition, Magma manangement yarped about how fast their new FineSIM SPICE
simulator has ramped up in sales. They claimed their tool's sales run rate
went from 0 to Nassda's sales run rate within a year; apparently some sort
of EDA sales growth record.
