Hey John,

I see Bill Gates, Einstein, and Peewee Herman, but who are the other 5? I
think I saw Frodo Baggins there somewhere? Do let us know if you ever figure
out the complete list.

I am so brown and nerdy. 8-)

Hi, John,

It's the Schrodinger equation for the Hydrogen atom. I'm surprised that you
didn't know.  See

      http://scienceworld.wolfram.com/physics/HydrogenAtom.html

It's non-relativistic, and so is rather simple; look up the Dirac equation
for a relativistic extension.

P.S. What's 'MySpace'?

Hi, John,

On his MySpace friends, there is Albert Einstein in the top left, and is
it Frodo in the bottom middle?

Hi, John,

Thanks for digging this up and sharing with us. Sometimes we just have to
stop and laugh at ourselves, don't we? Did you check out the trivia
questions in the video? They're great.

  Geography: In what city is the largest ball of twine built by one man?
  Entertainment: What's the deal with Lindsey Lohan? I mean, seriously?
  History: F.D.R. - was he faking it?
  Arts/Lit: On what page does Harry Potter die in the next book?
  Sci/Nature: What is the melting point of a gorilla's head?
  Sports: How many Wicket Men are there on a 43-Man Squiddish team?

As for the MySpace eight... some random bloke blogged the following:

Top 8 includes:

    * Bill Gates (computer),
    * Napolean Dynamite (iconic nerd),
    * Mr. Peabody (geeky and a cartoon),
    * Albert Einstein (science),
    * Screech (iconic nerd),
    * Frodo (fantasy)
    * and Pee Wee Herman (childish and nerd)

Thanks again for sharing!

John, please.

You have questions about a Weird Al video. Don't you know about Wikipedia?

Dear John,

The differential equation is the left side of the Schrodinger equation.

                            H psi = E psi

It's quantum mechanics and saying that energy is a scalar number. The
Hamilton Operator on the left side combines the operator for kinetic
energy and potential energy.

Hi, John,

Thanks for the laughs! I wasn't able to catch everything, but I can fill in
some of the blanks for you. I identified his top 8 on mySpace:

     Top row: Bill Gates, Napoleon Dynamite, Mr. Peabody (or
               maybe Mr. Pillsbury), Albert Einstein

  Bottom row: Screech (from "Saved by the Bell"), Frodo,
               Pee Wee Herman, Tom (mySpace founder)

Did you notice that it was Donny Osmond dancing in front of the equation with
Weird Al?

The questions flashed on the trivial pursuit card:

   G: In what city is the largest ball of twine built by one man?
       (A reference to a previous Weird Al song, "The Biggest Ball
       of Twine in Minnesota")

   E: What's the deal with Lindsay Lohan? I mean, seriously?

   H:  F.D.R. - Was he faking it?

   AL: On what page does Harry Potter die in the next book?

   SN: What is the (something, oblong?) point of a gorilla's head?

   SP: How many Wicket Men are there on a 41 man squash team?

The equation is Schrodinger's Wave Equation in 3-D. It describes the wave
nature of particles.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schrodinger_equation
