Subject: 148 paying EDA users sound off on having DAC in Austin this year
HELLO NEW BLOOD: Tallying just the 148 paying EDA users in this survey, it
was interesting to see such an overwhelming majority (93%) who liked having
DAC in Austin this year. Yes, some (6%) were Texas locals voting for Austin
pride -- and a few (7%) were Californians who voted against Austin out of CA
state pride -- but overall 93% of the EDA buying DAC attendees, regardless
of their home state, really liked having DAC in Austin this year. This was
either for the city of Austin itself -- or for the variety rotating DAC out
of California brings. Sometimes people like to see new faces and new blood.

Since 148 out of 2,364 DAC exhibit-only passes gives a sample size of 6%, I
figure this survey might be pretty good. One odd thing, though -- nobody,
not one person was neutral. I guess Texas brings that out in people. :)

LIKE. Coming from Europe I enjoy visiting different US cities
and Austin is a nice place.

layout was better such that everyone was on the "main" aisle.

have conferences in the Same-Old places. Austin showed that
there is life in other locations. I thought it was a
great turnout.

navigate. San Francisco is bigger, taller, less friendly.

I don't usually respond as I'm a EDA sales guy, but I do have to
say I was pleasantly surprised with the results from Austin. It
surpassed my expectations as far as total number of leads, but the
quality of the leads was much better than most all of the CA DAC's,
especially over the past 5 years.
I anticipate getting several sales from this show while most DAC's
you're lucky to get enough new business to pay for your booth space.
Let's go back to Austin in 2 years!

DISLIKE AUSTIN. Better to do it in California. Cleaner. Better
weather. More people can do day trip. Better flight connections.

Dislike Austin DAC. Very hot. No crowd at all, very few people
interested in attending inspite of doing it in Austin. I should
have seen all my friends from Austin this time. But nobody
turned up.
