Subject: Market Trends Gary Smith unexpectedly in hospital ICU
He's not worth millions. He's not a big PhD. But he's one of
the rare few neutral observers in EDA, fabs, and IP who I can
go to get the rest what's REALLY going on after I've been told
only one very biased side of a story.
It's why I always have Gary Smith on my DAC Troublemaker Panels.
Others may know him simply as that EDA Market Trends guy.
Either way, Gary is known by a LOT of people (both EDA vendors
and users) who would want know that Gary's been unexpectedly
hospitalized and he's in the ICU at the Good Samaritan Hospital
in San Jose.
This news bothered me. He had a cancer scare years ago that
took most of his esophagus. I knew Gary years before and after
that happened. It was traumatic to watch. What's this now???
Luckily, I've also found out that his wife, Lori Kate Smith,
who works at ARM, is keeping everyone updated about Gary here
in her blog:

What can you do?
Direct from Lori Kate's blog: "Prayers and well wishes are
gratefully received. While I will read them all to Gary, please
understand that at this time, I'm not able to respond to them.
We appreciate them all!"
