Hi John,
I met Sandeepan Bhanot during TieCon in May 2008. He said that Knowlent is
already dead by then. He said that he had sold all the assets to Cadence.
It was pretty much a wash sale. Since then, he has started a solar company
called Staten Solar.

Hi, John,
Anon as always.
I hear from some of the Aprio folks that were still part of Blaze DFM that
Blaze closed their doors over Thanksgiving.
This won't be the last DFM company to tip over.

Hey John,
Please keep me anon!!
This picture was taken at 10:30 AM this morning (Tues, Feb. 3rd, 2009) in
the Blaze parking lot:
http://www.deepchip.com/images/blaze_feb_2009.html
There's only 1 car where you would expect the Blaze people to park. The red
awning is their entrance. A little bird told me that a potential acquirer
was paying their bills for some of the employees through January. (They
originally were going to stop paying employees at the end of December.)
I have no idea what the current status is, if you have any other info, I
would of course be very interested.
I love reading your posts, so I'ld figure I would contribute for once...

Hi John,
Thanks for the mention in your latest newsletter (I think...)
<begin MarketingVoice>
Stone Pillar is alive and well and continuing to provide our customers with
innovative tools to reduce the engineering effort of creating, testing, and
analyzing parametric structures for leading edge technology development.
<end MarketingVoice>
We've exhibited at DAC only one time in our 8 year history as a company.
DAC was just too diffuse an audience for us. We've gotten better results
from smaller conferences that have a focus closer to parametric device
performance and technology development such as BCTM or ICCAD where the
likelihood of connecting with the right candidates for our tools is much
greater.
Is all publicity good publicity?

Hi, John,
Knowlent and Blaze are indeed dead. Stone Pillar is hanging in there. But
I think there will be half a dozen other companies gone by DAC and only
one or two new ones.
