Subject: The best user papers, Aart's speech, and ArchPro at Boston SNUG

Hi, John,

Nice to see you again at SNUG Boston ... the only time we get to catch up,
it seems.

For my first year as Boston SNUG Technical Committee Chair, I thought
things went pretty well.  We had 430 Synopsys users attend the conference,
breaking last year's total of 413!  Aart's keynote covered issues in chip
design, with no polar bear slides ... although a few on global warming. :)
There were demos of the mulit-voltage simulation tool that was part of
the recent ArchPro acquisition; very interesting.  Here's the Boston SNUG
user-rated best papers:

First Place - Clifford Cummings - Sunburst Design, Inc.
System Verilog Implicit Port Enhancements for Design & Verification

Second Place - Jonathan Bromley - Doulos Ltd.
Creating Stimulus & Stimulating Creativity: the VMM Scenario Generator

Third Place - Wilson Snyder - SiCortex, Inc.
The Ten Edits I Make Against Most IP

Technical Committee Award - John Vargas - Unisys
When Floorplans Attack: How to Balance Routing, Timing and Area

Also, most important to me, we had the overall highest user rating on
papers and presentations in Boston SNUG's history.  See you next year!
