Subject: Secrets of the Apache future product Roadmap

IT'S TOO NOISY IN HERE! -- It makes sense; you have a really good SI and
power toolset, so it's natural that you'd want expand into covering the
whole "noise" problem on a chip. Smart. Now my question is how much does
their new stuff differ from Gradient FireBolt in ELSE 06 #26?

"Have you seen the Apache future roadmap? What did they say that caught
your eye? What did you not believe in their roadmap?"

I did not see the Apache roadmap. But I've just seen the PrimeRail
roadmap, and I was surprised to see that it describes features that
    RedHawk had 2 years ago.

The Chip Modeling option in their roadmap is a pretty important
capability which Cadence/Synopsys/Sequence do not have.

I am very impressed that they cover the whole spectrum of power and
signal integrity for physical design (core, IO, Memory, signal path,
    power grid, etc.)

        - [ An Anon Engineer ]

Yes, the roadmap really covers all noise spectrum including SI, PI,
    thermal, substrate, etc.

        - [ An Anon Engineer ]

Looks very good. Seems like they are the only ones with a clear vision
in this area. They are going to address the whole spectrum of power
    analysis and SI.

        - [ An Anon Engineer ]

Apache's roadmap for the next 18 months is to go from power integrity
signoff to a complete SI set of tools for thermal, noise, IC-package,
    and OCV/PVT design.

Currently they're working on a power-thermal-electrical tool which
does on-chip temperature analysis, and shows its impact on leakage,
reliability and timing. It's to avoid thermal hot spots, help choose
chip cooling, and find its thermal-based timing margin.

        - [ An Anon Engineer ]

Near term, we are anxious to improve our data/model interchange
between ourselves and our pkg design group. As such, we want to
implement Apache's upcoming handling of s-parameter pkg modeling
    during RedHawk analysis.

        - [ An Anon Engineer ]

    Seen and reasonable.

        - Syed Huq of Cisco Systems

    Nope.

        - [ An Anon Engineer ]

    Not recently.

        - [ An Anon Engineer ]

    Nope, not seen the roadmap.
