Hi, Rex,

In your patent lawsuit vs. Magma, I noticed you recently said in the news
that you sought "to obtain full injunctive relief". What exactly does this
mean for end users if you win? Does this mean Magma will stop selling
Blast Fusion to future customers? Will the current users still be able to
use Blast Fusion? Will any users be held legally liable for anything?

Basically, I'm asking what's the probable impact on Magma users if Synopsys
wins this lawsuit.

John,

Here are the answers to your questions.

Q: What do you mean by "injunctive relief"?

A: "Injunctive relief" means we are seeking a court order requiring Magma
to stop making or selling software that infringes any of the three
patents we have asserted against Magma thus far.

Q: Does Synopsys intend to pursue current Magma users?

A: Synopsys cannot comment on this. However, if we obtain the injunctive
relief we are seeking, Magma will no longer be able to sell infringing
products. Users would be infringing as well, so clearly, Magma's
misappropriation of technology exposes their customers.

Hi, John,

We believe the indemnification provided in Magma's license agreements
means our customers are at little or no risk regardless of the outcome
of this litigation.
