Subject: Questions for Robert Hum, Mentor VP & GM of Verification & Test
Prior to the acquisition, IKOS led the market in emulation and was
routinely coming out with new products. Post MENT acquisition, it's lost
marketshare to CDN Palladium, and has not kept the pace of innovation
when compared with CDN. Does MENT consider this acquisition a success
and what is it going to do to bet back in the game?

Mentor: when will you start supporting System Verilog and PSL in your
0-in tools? When will you make there tool similar to the excellent IBM
RuleBase?
Mentor: How could you have been beaten by Cadence in the race to
Verisity purchase? You do not have decent testbench so you are way
behind your competitors.

To Robert Hum, Mentor: Catapult C which is nice but not mature enough.
- Why do not your Catapult C provide an interface to formal verification
languages, like "e" language, since I want to verify what I do?
- Since customers have IPs in VHDL/Verilog and want to reuse them, how
to integrate their behaviour in CatapultC "what-if" analysis?
- How can you convince customers to buy Catapult C for about $89,000
license a year, when Orange Tree Tehnologies offers something similar
for under $1,000?
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
1) Robert Hum - I've seen that you laid off PhD developers on the Catapult
synthesis project. Why is that? Is Mentor really committed to Catapult?

Does Mentor have any plan to convince Intel to be a CPU partner to create
models of Intel processors for Seamless?
I wonder how many people are doing co-verification out there. Probably
not many, not enough to force Intel's hand.
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
when are Magma and Mentor going to merge? If not, why not? Is that
really not in the best interest of shareholders to not merge....?
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
Do you fear that the NC-Sim/Specman simulation environment will have
competitive advantage over the Modelsim/Specman simulation environemnt?
---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----
Is there a test grading capability for Modelsim's code coverage results?
