Hi, John,
Silicon Forest Research seems to be alive and well, recently (August '03
relocating into a larger facility in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Having said
this, I too have not heard anything about them since DAC 2000. We're
looking to other tools for shortening the verification time, specifically
RealIntent Verix.

John -
I'm an EDA sales rep (for over 21 years now! GULP) and had signed up Tenison
as one of my lines in my new rep firm just before DAC. We flew out to
support them along with a couple of our other vendors. The Tenison off
floor suite was booked solid the entire DAC, so much so that the booth was
under staffed! We tried to help them out best we could but not being
trained we were pretty worthless. At any rate I think the reason Tenison
may have not been noticed at DAC'03 is that the company principals did not
have an opportunity to talk with anyone from the industry.
We are still getting our feet wet with this technology but is shows promise.
The Tenison evals that we have done show that converting to C from RTL is
relatively painless and the real issue is the C level testbench & stimulus.
Tenison is addressing these issues and I feel this product could help any
of the C level design tools in regards to bringing existing IP in RTL up to
C, System C or C++.
I wish I would have had this tool a few years ago when I was evangelizing
V-CPU in my SimTech/Summit Days.

John,
Pls do not use my name as usual.
Oridus is still around and growing into various areas. I think they got
more business from Infineon and other mask shop/printing besides existing
all main fabs/prog-logic/cadence customers. They are doing business in
other areas besides EDA. EDA is not growing much anyway. This company is
not an EDA company; they also have design service (even keep it very small).

> Esterel -- Did DAC'02, but was a no show at DAC'03. "Esterel sells their

Hi, John,
I believe Esterel won't come back to DAC. They decided EDA was not the
right space for them.
