Subject: FastScan "Create Patterns" Is 3X To 20X Faster Than The Old "Run"

Hi, John,

I occasionally run across users of FastScan that have been using our old
"run" command with dynamic compression to create ATPG patterns.  They have
scripts built around this that were established a long time ago and have
not bothered to make changes as the "run" command still works.  Since that
time Mentor has added a new command which is better for creating patterns.
This is "create patterns".   This will generate patterns faster (3x to 20x)
and with lower pattern count (up to 5x).  Altogether "create patterns"
replaces three commands.  This includes "set atpg compression on",
"add faults -all" and the enhanced version of "run".
