The Wiretap Intercept No. 060515
opinions and skeptical speculations too small to fit into an Industry Gadfly column

I found this letter in my email "in" box today. I clicked on the link and,
sure enough, that specific picture is there with that story!

    From: [ An Anon ESNUG reader ]

    Hi, John, keep me anonymous on this.

    I read this article this morning in China Daily about a Chinese
    engineer, Chen Jin, whose famous breakthrough invention, the Hanxin,
    turned out to be fraud.

      http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/china/2006-05/15/content_589728.htm

    What I thought interesting was in the picture Mr. Jin was wearing a
    "Synopsys physical synthesis" coat.

    Synopsys marketing and PR people must hate this!

My bet is both the Magma and Synopsys guys will privately chuckle at this;
To have some fun, some Magma guys will mention it to their customers while
most of the Synopsys guys will do their best to ignore it. (And the bulk of
the Cadence guys won't even know what you're talking about!) :)
