Subject: User hints class-action lawsuit over piggy SNPS licensing daemon

Please make me anonymous.

I would love to know if other companies have problems with the Synopsys
licensing daemon in a WAN environment.  We have significant problems with
jobs not releasing licenses after they have completed, and it's only
with Synopsys tools (we use all the other major EDA vendors as well).

Synopsys has little incentive to fix this, as it forces their customers
to have extra capacity just to avoid seeing the symptom of license
unavailability, which is infuriating.

If enough people are having this problem, and it's not just a problem with
our WAN as Synopsys suggests, then I will continue to pursue this issue
with Synopsys (to the point of filing a class-action lawsuit if necessary).

Is anyone else seeing these Synopsys licensing daemon problems we see?
