Subject: Dean Drako - CEO of IC Manage

For Dean: Why are you on this panel? Who cares about data management SW?
          What's duller than data management?

         ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----

I'd ask the IC Manage guys how I can transfer project data FROM
their IC Manage to other DM systems (with history intact).

         ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----

Dean Drako - CEO of IC Manage

Any reason why users prefer a cumbersome, slow, overconstraing tool
call Synchronicity from D'Assault instead of your user friendly fast
and furious tool? Is the tool, is the price or is the fact that IT
has no control over the server who runs your software?

         ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ---- ----

Here you go for IC Manage.

1. What do you mean by design management?  What's the difference
between EDA vendor design management and software configuration
management? E.g. IC manage and CVS, ClearCase, Perforce.

2. Doesn't IC design management just force more nuisance overhead
and documentation on already overloaded IC designers?

3. Isn't design management a CAD group matter not a designer issue?

4. What is the difference between IC Manage and Perforce?

5. Aren't revision control and configuration management systems a
commodity? Aren't all the systems ACID compliant now?

6. Wouldn't an IC design management system conflict with our
   software configuration management system?
