Subject: Hard Proof That Cadence Is Moving Its India Group To Mexico
Fear raced thru CDN-India last week on the move to Mexico news. Cadence
is making a move a-la-Walmart to cut costs further. Seems that the
Mexicans will work for pennies on the dollar rather than quarters and
dimes. CDN sees higher rate of return as a result. No one is safe as
companies look anywhere for cost cutting. Some countries that seemed
cheap before are now considered expensive. Cost cutting forces companies
to look anywhere for lower cost employees.

There is a group spinning up in Mexico, but it does not belong to CDN.
Somewhere along the way piggy came across a shred of info about this and
then started posting all the ca-ca about. The group is about 30 engineers
targeted at (runidmentary) analog and full custom design. The design
group has apparently been given a university-type deal from Cadence. The
designs they will work on are fairly innocuous compared to the technology
envelopes being pushed by the name brand teams in the US.
I think the Mexico group got one deal with Motorola and are working on
securing another.
