Subject: Watch Out -- The DAC Registration People Are Bloody Clueless!
Hi, John,
On Thursday, 4/22 I tried to register for DAC. My Netscape browser crashed
terribly while waiting for the confirmation. Not knowing the status of my
reservation I called the number listed on the DAC web page: 800-321-4573.
First surprise: the lady on the other side did not even know what am I
talking about! After some rather long elaboration she was nevertheless
able to transfer me to somebody more competent.
Again, some hesitation but in the end she was able to tell me that the
order did go through. I asked for an email confirming my order, especially
the tutorials. The lady promised me a confirmation on the next day. Now
it is Tuesday and I'm still waiting...
I think a conference like DAC deserves a more professional organization and
definitely a web page which can handle mainstream browsers like Netscape,
don't you think?
