Subject: One Man's Review Of The DesignCon East Last Week In Boxboro, MA

Hi, John,

I didn't see you there, so I'm not sure you were aware that DesignCon
East was in Boxboro last week. Although the show flow was fairly lightly
populated with the usual suspects, I thought the panels were very well
done. Two particularly noteworthy for me were the panel on "The Future
of Outsourcing" which had IBM, Celestica, and WiPro, and "Battling the
Skyrocketing Costs of Complex System-on-Chip" which had some great data
from ST Micro, Cadence, Ziptronix, Atria, and VirageLogic.

This was a good show from East Coast standards. The International
Engineering Consortium (IEC) was able to attract some good speakers, and
is hoping to attract an even better crowd next year. They are also going
to start a DesignCon in Europe this year.

Just thought you should know.

Editor's Note: Thanks for the review, Dave, but I didn't know there
was such a beastie as a "DesignCon East". Sorry I missed it. - John
