Subject: How Can I Get UNIX-like Shell Capabilities Inside Synopsys Tools?

Hi John,

I've been working with Design Compiler for a while now and I've noticed
that the Synopsys shell is lacking all the great features that are usually
present in the UNIX shell (ie, command/path completion, up arrow/down arrow
history, etc.) I've found a lot of Perl/TCL wrappers that add these
features, but I'd like to find something that works directly inside the
tool. I'd like to avoid wrappers since they tend to get messy.

So mostly I'm looking for either a TCL script that allows UNIX shell like
features after its been sourced, or to have Synopsys support this natively
within the tool. Do you know of any scripts that can be sourced to give you
these capabilities or have you heard anything about when Synopsys is going
to have native support for this in the tool?

I found a tclreadline module that allows me to get those Shell capabilities.
The problem is that I can't read in the compiled module since Synopsys has
disabled the TCL "load" command.

Know of any way to turn on the TCL load command? :)
