Hi, John,
Sorry! If I had known that Phil Mak was an investor or on the board at
Averant, I would have mentioned it. Little did I know.
Of course, I still stand by my comments. Indeed, the more we use Averant
here, the more I like it. We're now verifying blocks with some nice
interesting pipelines and more complicated temporal behavior, and it's
working out very well indeed. It's really very nice to be able to prove
that module X will generate exactly the "right thing" three cycles from
now, especially when module X has a few thousand bits of inputs and a fair
amount of internal state. I'm happy that I also have SpecMan and VCS. Of
course, there are certainly some behaviors I haven't been able to verify
in Solidify. But for the properties I can prove in Solidify, it's been
great.
So there you go. I don't think I'm biased by the connection I didn't know
about. I'm pretty sure I like the tool because it's helping me verify my
designs.

Hi John,
It would be great if our customers were also investors. So far, all of our
customers have only purchased product, and none have purchased equity.
However, many customers and suppliers have common investors and it can help
with introductions, but it becomes irrelevant as extensive technical
evaluations are done prior to each purchasing. There can be no secrets,
Solidify has to provide a substantial value or else it will not be selected.
