From: [ Synopsys Synthesis Marketing ]

Dear John,

Synopsys has been slowly phasing out ECL Compiler over the past two years
due to a lack of customer demand. We have not been actively selling the
product and our focus has been on working with ECL Compiler customers on a
transition plan to other products. The last version of software and
documentation to still contain ECL Compiler references and code was 3.4a
which was released in January 1996. Synopsys will not be providing support
to existing ECL Compiler customers beyond the 3.4a release.
